Allarme disagio mentale tra i giovani, sos raddoppiati: 1 su 3 tra gli under 30

Boom di richieste di aiuto per problemi di salute mentale tra i giovani. Arriva da ragazzi under 30 il 34% degli Sos lanciati a Soss, servizio di supporto, orientamento e sostegno sociale offerto dalla Fondazione Don Luigi Di Liegro. Registra “in totale più di 50 chiamate al mese, suddivise equamente tra uomini e donne, di cui più di un terzo però sono ragazze e ragazzi che si sono rivolti al servizio a causa di un disagio per presentare una richiesta di aiuto. Numeri raddoppiati e in costante crescita rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2023“, segnala la fondazione, annunciando che Soss rimarrà attivo anche in agosto.

“A chiamare – riferisce Luigina Di Liegro, segretaria dell’ente – sono per lo più familiari e amici, preoccupati per qualcuno, lamentando la mancanza di attività promosse per chi è affetto da una patologia specifica e che spesso si trova a casa da solo, senza un contatto diretto con i centri di salute mentale. L’aumento di richiesta di aiuto da parte degli under 30 deve spingere le istituzioni e chiunque si occupi di salute mentale ad aprire loro un canale privilegiato. Bisogna investire maggiormente in una rete di servizi psicosociale per le famiglie”, esorta Di Liegro.

Le richieste di aiuto al Soss – riporta la fondazione – provengono da tutto il territorio nazionale, con una forte prevalenza della Capitale e della sua provincia, pari al 70% sul totale. I numeri salgono leggermente nelle aree più periferiche di Roma. Gli utenti chiedono supporto all’accesso dei servizi, denunciano disagio sociale e mentale, episodi di bullismo, anoressia, bulimia e depressione, difficoltà nel rapporto con la famiglia o a scuola. Solo una piccola percentuale è costituita dai senza fissa dimora (0,4%) o da chi chiede informazioni riguardo a problematiche legate a malattie specifiche, come l’Alzheimer.

Il servizio Soss della Fondazione Di Liegro – si legge in una nota – resterà attivo anche durante l’intero mese di agosto, al fine di garantire il supporto in un periodo dell’anno particolarmente delicato per le persone affette da disagi psichici e per i loro familiari, e può essere contattato da tutta Italia chiamando il numero 3517488351 o attraverso la mail supportosociale@fondazionediliegro.it.

Lo sportello virtuale è solo uno dei servizi offerti della fondazione, in campo anche con laboratori socio-riabilitativi (musica, teatro, fotografia, scrittura creativa, arte) per utenti seguiti dalle strutture pubbliche di Roma, il gruppo di auto-mutuo-aiuto per familiari, il gruppo di auto-mutuo-aiuto di sostegno al lutto, il gruppo multifamiliare. L’ente è attivo inoltre con interventi di prevenzione nelle scuole, convegni e seminari sul tema della salute mentale e uno specifico corso di formazione per volontari e familiari appena iniziato, con la partecipazione di più di 200 iscritti da tutta Italia. La Fondazione Di Liegro è impegnata ogni giorno nel rafforzamento dei servizi di orientamento e sensibilizzazione sulla salute mentale, anche grazie agli strumenti messi a disposizione del bando Comunità solidali 2022 della Regione Lazio – Assessorato Politiche sociali, Welfare, Beni comuni e Asp.
