Barbanti (Pd) chiede che venga riaperto e potenziato il reparto di Malattie infettive dell’ospedale di Lamezia

La crisi della sanità in quest’area ha i volti del sovraffollamento, delle gravi diseconomie, delle liste d’attesa chilometriche dell’ospedale Pugliese-Ciaccio di Catanzaro, dell’utilizzo al «risparmio» dell’unico ospedale policlinico universitario sempre in Catanzaro e del ricercato depauperamento dell’ospedale di Lamezia Terme.

L’ospedale di Lamezia Terme dal 2010 ad oggi è stato privato di reparti e funzioni e, tra queste, del reparto di Malattie infettive chiuso in contemporanea con il reparto di Microbiologia e virologia.

La chiusura del reparto Malattie infettive non teneva conto del generale incremento di queste patologie e delle difficoltà nell’assistenza che vi sarebbero state. Infatti, subito dopo la chiusura, le nostre perplessità si concretizzarono nel trasferimento forzato nell’ospedale di Vibo di un nostro concittadino.

Il caso, che non ebbe la conclusione sperata, provocò grande allarme nella popolazionee che richiese a gran voce la riapertura del reparto di Malattie infettive.

In questi giorni, nella Regione si sta prendendo atto delle necessità di rinforzare i posti letto ed i reparti di Malattie infettive. Una scelta appropriata che risponde alle necessità rispetto ad un incremento delle richieste per queste patologie, denunciato continuamente dagli specialisti.

Chiedo che si riapra il reparto di Malattie infettive nell’ospedale di Lamezia Terme e che lo si faccia dotandolo di personale in grado di assolvere in loco alle necessità della specialità in quanto nel nostro ospedale lametino non mancano le strutture adeguate e la lunga tradizione in merito.

Chiedo che venga riproposta l’urgenza di una programmazione sanitaria adeguata nell’intera area che rivaluti le possibilità dell’offerta sanitaria del nostro ospedale nelle specialità che sono state dismesse ed in quelle da attivare, anche se previste.

La riconosciuta necessità di un miglioramento dell’offerta delle prestazioni sanitarie in quest’area non può e non deve trascurare l’assistenza ospedaliera a Lamezia Terme che può e deve essere integrata con quella degli ospedali pubblici di Catanzaro.
